Description

A 10-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Abhainn Dearg, established in 2008 as the most westerly distillery in Scotland. This expression is made with barley grown on the Isle of Lewis and matured in ex-Bourbon casks.

Malt, maritime/coastal notes (iodine, sea kelp, sea breeze, salty), orange peel/citrus (lemon, pineapple), sweet (honey, Ovaltine, sugar paste, vanilla essence), sometimes metallic/sulfur, hint of motor oil, herbal/vegetal.
Palate
Sweetness (honey, caramel, sugar, wine gums), plasticky/Play-Doh-like, smooth, light/thin mouthfeel, salty, seaweed, rubber tires, earthy, plump barley, orange peel, honey mustard, blood orange, sometimes chemical/hospital-like with water, leather.
Finish
Short and sweet, fleeting, gently spicy, slightly metallic, fruit and nut chocolate taste, ginger nut biscuits, woody, leather notes in the back palate.
