Description

Amrut Intermediate Sherry is an Indian single malt whisky from the Amrut distillery, known for its unique three-part maturation process. It is initially aged in ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks, then transferred to Spanish ex-Oloroso sherry butts for a period, and finally returned to ex-bourbon barrels for its finishing maturation. This process results in a complex and elegant whisky with rich sherry notes balanced by vanilla and oak.

Nose
Very sensual. Light sherry aromas, reminiscent of raspberry macarons, replacing the usual fig and dried fruit notes. Fragrance of blackberry and mandarin enhanced by exotic hints of ginger and flowers, evolving into vanilla cake aromas.
Palate
Rich and fruity, sweet, and even more feminine compared to other Sherry cask bottlings. Oranges, grapes, and cherries; plum jam. A beautiful range of spices (cinnamon, pepper, and anise) complements the leather and oak notes.
Finish
Long with cardamom, cocoa, raisins, dried flowers, sewn grass and vanilla.
