Description
The Amrut distillery, founded in 1948, produces this Indian single malt whisky. The Amrut Intermediate Sherry is known for its unique maturation process, where the spirit first matures in ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks, then is transferred to Spanish ex-Oloroso sherry butts for about a year, and finally returns to ex-bourbon casks to complete its maturation. This 'intermediate' sherry aging imparts a complex and layered flavor profile.
