Amrut Single Malt Whisky from India was launched officially in Glasgow in 2004. Since then its reputation has grown, with its range of innovative whiskies using Indian barley from the Punjab distilled in the tropical garden city of Bangalore at 3000ft. Warm meaty peat, sweet dark fruits (strawberries, plum, cherry), molasses, tea leaves, cinnamon rolls, with hints of grapes, BBQ, dirt, bubble gum, chili pepper, red pepper, oregano, and leather.
Palate
Thick mouthfeel with warm peaty BBQ, meat, dark fruits, and a hint of brine and grapes. Spicy notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, white and cayenne pepper, red berries, and wood smoke, with a slight port influence and oak.
Finish
Long and warming, with BBQ peat, grapes, port, clove, cinnamon, red berries, smoke, tea, plum, cherry, bubble gum, dirt, chili pepper, paprika, red pepper, and ash.
