Nose
Gentle spices and intense sweetness of dried fruits are topped with chocolate, ripe oranges and oiled leather. Fresh apple, vanilla fudge, candied lemon, pineapple, mango cream, dried tropical fruit, flamed orange peel, raisins, butterscotch, spice, and nuttiness.
Palate
Full-bodied and bold, with aromatic spices, fruit loaf, and candied lemon, followed by a surge of vanilla, honey, and caramel. Rich with baking spices like cinnamon, ginger, and cloves, dried apples, raisins, almonds, sherry rancio, orange peel, and a hint of chocolate.
Finish
Long and rewarding, transforming from peppery and hot to deliciously sweet and smooth with an undertone of bitter pralines. It can also be slightly bitter, with a more noticeable cask, then spicy with clove and ginger, returning to baked apple and pear fruits, a rich malty note, and a slightly tannic mouthfeel.
