Nose
Pungent spicy vanilla with toffee, lemon zest, stewed apple and faint mocha coffee. Sweet and full-bodied bursting with spicy vanilla and rich toffee aromas followed by fresh lemons, cooked green apples and a just hint of coconut. Ripe pears and cherries, candied orange, dried figs and sultanas, peppery oak and cinnamon, vanilla scented candles with some wispy, waxy smoke, fresh linen and faint menthol.
Palate
Spicy dried fruit, vanilla rubbed old leather and toffee with zesty orange peel. Sweet, warm and spicy. Dried fruit cake, creamy vanilla and toffee are followed by a distinct note of zesty orange peel and enveloped in leathery richness. Medium bodied with moderate viscosity, creamy mouthfeel, Madiera cake, vanilla malt, ginger marmalade on yeasty bread, cranberry juice, turning sharp, spicy and woody towards the finish.
Finish
Long, old leather, lemon zest and vanilla with lingering spice. Long, warm finish, again the vanilla. Spicy with some chocolate and a soft herbalness from the oak. Weird floral soapy/waxy thing going on, oranges – juice and peel, grassy and spicy, medium length.
