Description

An independent brand of Scotch whiskies, produced by the Glasgow-based wholesaler, Highfern. Launched in 2014, releases have included a variety of single malts, blended malts and blended Scotch bottlings, often featuring secondary maturation. The Angels' Nectar First Edition is a blended malt crafted from one Speyside single malt and two Highland single malts. The creation is inspired by the legend of the 'Angels' Share', the evaporated whisky lost during maturation. This release was limited to a production run of 6000 bottles.

Nose
Rich, full and fruity, with fresh lemons, lime zest, green apples, vanilla, malt, soft spices, and a fresh character. Also notes of stewed apples and fruit syrup, grasses, and almonds.
Palate
Soft and delicate mouthfeel, with an interplay of sweetness and acidity. Notes of freshly baked apple pie, fruit bread, orange marmalade, heather honey, lemon, and Christmas spices like cinnamon, cloves, and allspice. Hints of spicy oak, dark chocolate, and coconut cream. Orchard fruit and prominent citrus are also present.
Finish
Medium long, with sweetness giving way to herbal and green notes, afternoon tea, After Eight mint chocolate, and tomato plant. A hint of spice is present, with a lingering residue of mild coffee notes and bitter chocolate.
