Description

Based in Annan very close to the border with England, the newly opened Annandale Distillery was painstakingly built by husband and wife, David Thomson and Teresa Church to reach the former glory of the original distillery dating back to 1830. This is a single cask release of their peated Man O' Sword expression, matured in a Refill Bourbon Cask.

Nose
Fresh orchard fruits including apple and pear, creamy vanilla, caramel and cream soda. A back note of blackcurrants and slight hints of smouldering wood. Sweet and softly peated. Ripe, red and green apples.
Palate
Beautifully sweet and creamy caramel, vanilla, hazelnuts, and a tickle of smouldering woody notes on the palate. Full bodied, and rather spicy. Very peaty, sooty, and smoky.
Finish
Medium long. Fiery and feisty all the way. Bitter-ish. Pepper and some green notes.
