Description

Antiquary is a distinguished Scottish blended Scotch whisky brand, established in 1888 by James Hardie and his sons. This 30 Year Old expression is the pinnacle of The Antiquary blended Scotch whisky range, featuring single malts from the Highlands and Speyside, and single grain whisky from the Lowlands. It has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry oak casks, with a lengthy secondary marrying period of over three years in ex-Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. The brand was purchased by Tomatin Distillery Co. Ltd. in 1996.

Fruity, rich with caramel, raisin, milk chocolate, dried cherry, dried tropical fruit (peach, pineapple), waxy furniture polish, antique shop, mahogany, gentle warm baking spices, old leather, hints of smoked bacon and aged timber.
Palate
Elegant, rich and luxurious with heather honey, maple syrup, dried fruit (raisin, sultana, tropicals like pineapple, peach, papaya), chocolate, drying cocoa powder, toasted hazelnut, tropical fruit, syrup and rich oak spice.
Finish
Decent length with sweeter elements fading, leaving savoury notes, drying woodiness, delicate warming spice, hint of old leather, beeswax, heather honey and waxy tropical fruitiness, possibly a tiny hint of gentle, soft peat smoke.
