Description

This is the sixth release from Ardbeg in the Elements of Islay series. Elements of Islay is a collection of Islay single malts, introduced by Speciality Drinks and now bottled by Elixir Distillers. They are labelled without distillery names, instead using a unique code for each in the style of the periodic table of the elements. Ardbeg, located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay, is known for its heavily-peated single malt.

Nose
Gentle and mild with resin, grass, sweet porridge, honey, and fresh white fruits, alongside meaty, spicy smokiness. Medicinal notes of iodine, camphor, and eucalyptus, with hints of leather, oiled wood, and subtle vanilla.
Palate
Fresh first-fill bourbon cask influence brings spiciness, a bitter kick, and creamy texture. Herbaceous smoke, lemon, lime zestiness, sweet lemons, and vanilla custard. Deep tarry notes, soot, warm ashes, and maritime hints.
Finish
Spicy and smoky medium to long finish with smoked lemon peel, honey, vanilla biscuits, mild meatiness, ash, and tar.
