Description

Ardbeg Smokiverse is a limited edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky, created as a 'High Gravity Mash Experiment' for Ardbeg Day. This experimental approach, involving a high-gravity mashing process, aims to amplify fruit-forward compounds, resulting in a fruitier, sweeter, and more intense Ardbeg. It is non-chill filtered and matured in ex-bourbon casks, offering a unique balance of smoke, sweetness, and tropical fruit.

Nose
An explosion of fruity, estery notes, reminiscent of smoked bubblegum, fusing with whiffs of ripening barley and toasted sourdough bread. With water, dense, sweet, and aromatic peat smoke emerges, accompanied by gently smoked tropical fruits.
Palate
A rich, creamy mouthfeel with sharp, sooty and spicy notes of creosote, aniseed, and clove. Tempered by the distinct sweetness of muscovado sugar, robust woody notes orbit rich charcoal. Tropical fruits like mango and pineapple pop amid earthy ash and smoke.
Finish
Long and lingering with earthy peat moss fusing with sizzling bonfire embers. Dry smoke, licorice root, and smoldering oak.
