Description

Ardbeg Uigeadail is an award-winning Islay single malt, named after the loch that supplies water to the distillery. It is a non-age statement whisky, matured in a marriage of ex-bourbon American oak and ex-sherry Oloroso casks, resulting in a complex profile of deep smoky notes balanced with sweet, raisiny tones. It is bottled at cask strength and is non-chill filtered.

Immediately peaty, slightly medicinal and maritime, with black pepper, bacon, sweet BBQ sauce, sherry notes, fudge, Christmas baking spices, raisins, dried cherries, and hints of parma violets and citrus peel. Rich and weighty with warm Christmas cake, walnut oil, fresh ocean spice, cedar, pine needles, smouldering coal fire, well-oiled leather, treacle toffees, and chocolate-coated raisins.
Palate
Medium mouthfeel, maritime seaspray, ashy woodfire, black pepper, banana bread with cinnamon and nutmeg, dark chocolate chips, sherry-driven dried fruit, sweet, spicy, deep smoky flavours, honey glazed smoked food, and chewy treacle.
Finish
Medium to long, peaty, maritime, sweet (toffee candy), peppery, refreshing citrusy notes, lingering raisins, honey, pepper, espresso, smoked wood embers, deep mocha tones, and rich aromatic smoke.
