Description

This Ardmore 1987 30 Year Old is an independent bottling by Gordon & MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice range. Matured for three decades in a refill American hogshead cask, it was bottled in 2018 at a cask strength of 56.9% ABV. Ardmore is a Highland distillery known for its peated spirit, and this release is non-chill filtered and natural in color. Only 133 bottles were produced.

Nose. Pressed green apple leads into tropical fruit aromas with a refreshing menthol lift. A toasted malt edge develops; hints of campfire marshmallows and charred oak linger. Palate. Sweet, peppery, with a fresh herbal edge. Delicate cured meat flavours transform into creamy, nutty salted toffee. Banana notes unfold with gently drying pink grapefruit. Finish. Dark chocolate and bursts of lime zest linger with nuances of oak.
