Nose
Nutmeg with touches of barley husks, hemp rope and sultanas, as well as some Sauternes and cherry-flavoured candy canes. A bit closed but water might help, bringing out notes of dried red fruits and honey. Pleasant aromas of ripe pears and stewed apples, vanilla and honey. A light peat smoke lingers in the background, accompanied by hints of toasted nuts and a touch of marzipan.
Palate
Gingerbread, Maraschino cherries and burnt toast, as well as white pepper and fennel. Whiffs of vanilla too. Full and rounded, with a beautiful balance between sweetness and spice. Notes of honeycomb, butterscotch, and almonds, with a soft touch of spicy oak and cinnamon. Subtle hints of caramel and dark chocolate.
Finish
Lingering spices and soft herbal notes combined with caramel-glazed apples. Medium in length. Long and warming, with lingering notes of toasted oak, light peat smoke, and a touch of dried fruit. A soft hint of vanilla and a subtle maritime character remain present.
