Nose
Creamy and honeyed with citrus fruits, lush, floral and cheesy (Isle of Mull Cheddar), cedar shavings, shelled peanuts, clean smoke, hemp ropes, wood sailing skiffs, and seaspray. Also smouldering driftwood, sea salt, smoked Gouda cheese, lanolin, Granny Smith apples, brine.
Palate
Big, bold and surprisingly smoky, creamy and honeyed, buttery oak quickly makes way for earthy-ashy peat, tarry ropes and salted caramel. Plenty of citrus, baked apple and poached pear, with more cheddar or blue cheese topped with honeycomb. Icing sugar and cupcakes. Oily mouthfeel, vanilla, crisp light fruit, white grapes, lots of tingling spices.
Finish
Long, lingering and zesty. Ashy smoke and toasted oak notes linger longest. Medium length, spices definitely lingering as sweeter notes of grape and orchard fruits last.
