Description

One of Glasgow's Premier Independent Whisky Bottling Companies, North Star Spirits, established in 2016 by Iain Croucher, is dedicated to unearthing hidden gems within the Scotch Whisky realm. They meticulously curate casks and spirits, bottling between 6-9 casks every quarter. This particular release is an independent bottling of Ardnamurchan Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled in 2015 and matured for 5 years in a first-fill barrel before being bottled in 2021 at 52.5% ABV. Only 247 bottles were released as part of their Cask Series 016.

Ripe banana, hot cross buns, toasted almonds, orange marmalade, foam bananas, toasted fruit loaf, brown bread with marmalade, flaked almonds, fruit buns, toasted sugar lending a smoky hint.
Palate
Charred tropical fruits, honey sweetness, orange peel, soft smoke, tropical barbecued fruits, hints of marmite, honeyed malt with a tangy hint of mango and lemon, rounded by wafts of dry smoke.
Finish
Long with soft smoke and sea salt, long, soft and sweet peat smoke, salty sea air on Sanna Bay, subtly savoury with more smoke and a smidge of sea breeze.
