Description

This was the distillery's second small batch single malt offering, released in January 2021. Distilled in 2015, it was matured in 65% bourbon casks and 35% sherry casks. One of the most westerly distilleries on the Scottish mainland, located on the peninsula from which it takes its name in Lochaber in the Scottish Highlands. Nose
Honeyed baking spices, orange marmalade, vanilla, lemon zest, fresh-cut grass, and a mix of woody smoke and sea-washed pebbles. Hints of dried fruits like apricot and pineapple, with a touch of earthy mustiness.
Palate
Oily and silky texture with sweet citrus and stone fruit (peach, apricot, orange) alongside a spicy kick of ginger and nutmeg. Notes of briney coastal smoke, teriyaki, and a creamy sweetness with hints of dried berries and green apples.
Finish
Medium to long, with a lingering warmth of chilli heat and spices. Saline tips, liquorice, orange zest, and a gentle ashiness or woody peat smoke.
