Description

The fourth limited release from Ardnamurchan Distillery. Matured in 1st Fill Ex-Sherry and bottled on 4th October 2019 at 57.4% abv. This is a Highland Single Malt Spirit, not legally a whisky, with components aged between 2-4 years. It is a combination of two butts, six hogsheads and 21 octaves, from American and Spanish oak ex-sherry (Oloroso and PX) casks. Approximately 5100 bottles were released. The distillery produces both peated and unpeated spirit, and this release is a blend of both.

Nose
Apples, new rubber ball, yeasty sherry, wax, wool, coal smoke. There's a little apricot, dried figs, almond paste but also a little menthol & engine oil, putty & satsuma/clementine.
Palate
Rich, a little bitterness, the sherry is very pronounced here, it's a little spirity, marzipan, dates, raisins, a little cigar tobacco & smoke.
Finish
Short, a little cologne, cedar, caramel a little pepper & juniper, a touch earthy from the peat.
