Named due to the close relationship one of its three founders had with a Tunbridge Wells-based whisky shop of the same name, Master of Malt originally started trading in 1985 as an independent bottler to fulfil demand for single malt whiskies from the world's finest distilleries. This particular expression is a 7 Year Old French single malt from Armorik, distilled in 2011 and matured in a French oak butt, part of an exclusive Master of Malt collection of only 62 bottles.

Nose
Sponge cake, crunchy candied biscuits, and wafers, there's sweet fruit too, with stewed redcurrants, a touch of buttered sweetcorn, and just a hint of honey-roasted ham.
Palate
Powerful, with bold tannic oak, sweet, biscuity malt, and delicate poached fruit. Buttery pastry and cooked apple lead to fresh strawberries, while peppery, aromatic spice develops.
Finish
Jammy with blueberry and tangy cranberry, backed by a host of woody spices. Peppery oak and maple syrup bring a superb warm and sweet balance as it slowly tails off.
