This SMWS 157.2 'Cinnamon Chilli Chocolate Cupcakes' is a 7-year-old Single Malt French Whisky from the Armorik distillery, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2023 at 61.5% ABV. It was matured in a 1st Fill Ex-Oloroso Butt. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is an independent bottler known for its single cask, cask strength whiskies.

Nose
A bouquet of aromas ranged from pear drops, sour plums and raspberry sherbet to dandelion and burdock, greengage jam and bergamot to, finally, dried lemon peel and sweet tobacco.
Palate
We found lots of spice on the palate, including cinnamon, chilli and chocolate cupcakes, plus spiced chewy toffee with a resinous peppermint flavour.
Finish
The addition of water added plenty of sweetness, bringing butterscotch, raisins, Sauternes-poached pears, and golden caster sugar.
