Description

One of two malt whisky distilleries owned by Isle of Arran Distillers, Lochranza was the first to be opened in 1995. The distillery's flagship single malt brand is the Arran label and although it now only distils a non-peated whisky, it has historically produced peated single malt as well. A private members club established by Pip Hills in 1983. It has flagship members bars in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London.

Nose
Superbly clear, bright and focused around citrus fruits, lemon jelly, sweet malt extract and coastal flowers, sea greens and gorse flower. Water enhanced floral notes, honeys, pollens, petrichor and potting-shed earthiness.
Palate
Full of pineapple sweetness, juicy fruit chewing gum, boiled fruit sweets and crystallised tropical fruits. Reduction brought a drier but still very tropical fruit profile, along with guava, melon drizzled with golden syrup and a big slug of honey liqueur.
