Description

Legal whisky-making started at Auchentoshan on the banks of the Clyde in 1817 when the Duntocher distillery was built by John Bulloch. Auchentoshan is a Lowland single malt Scotch whisky distillery, famed for its exclusive use of triple distillation, a method that gives the whisky a delicate and sweet flavor. This 1970 vintage was aged for 21 years and bottled in 1991. The distillery was one of the few buildings not damaged during the Clydebank Blitz of 1941, though one of its warehouses was affected.
