Distillery built in 1972, first single malt bottled under 'The Singleton' banner in 1986, pioneer of cask finishing in mid-1980s.

Nose
Sweet, fresh notes of marzipan, dark chocolate, poached pears, cereal, vanilla, malt, fruit, grapes, light earth, toffee, brittle, orchard fruit, graham, maple, and sweet berry syrup. Also bright dried fruit notes from sherry cask, golden raisins, dried apricots, celery, musty funky barrel notes, and vanilla bean.
Palate
Light, spicy fruity apple with a malty finish. Mellow milk chocolate, black tea, prunes, black peppercorns, tart cherries, and a hint of bitter coffee. Doughy and buttery, with hints of lemon and pineapple, banana, caramel, coconut, butterscotch, and citrus. Oily texture with floral esters and vanilla.
Finish
Short-ish and slightly drying with soft fruity sweetness, peach candy, and a slight grain note. Nice sherry cask feel with cherries in dark chocolate, black grapes, and peach. Slight aniseed and smoke, sharp oak lingering, and a touch of peat.
