Description
This single malt was produced as a collaboration between Aurora and Alten Laksefiskeri Interesseforening. It is composed of two cask types: 125 litre ex-Oloroso sherry cask and 125 litre ex-bourbon quarter cask and is the world's first ever whisky (partially) made from Arctic barley. Whisky vintage and age is not on the bottle but is detailed on the producer website. This whisky is a cooperation with Aurora and Alten Laksefiskeri Interesseforening ('ALI'), which are turning 300 years in 2025. The whisky is partly made with barley from Heimdal Gård in Alta and river water from the Alta River. The 'arctic barley project' started in 2019, making this the first whisky on the market using true Arctic matured barley, the northernmost barley in the World.
