Description
Founded in 1862, Bacardi is the largest privately held, family-owned spirits company in the world. Originally established by Spanish wine merchant Don Facundo Bacardi Masso in Santiago de Cuba, the company has lived through high times and revolutions and is recognised by its bat logo. Bacardi 151 was a highly alcoholic overproof rum, bottled at 75.5% ABV (151 proof). It was produced in Puerto Rico and known for its use in cocktails and flaming drinks due to its flammability. Production was discontinued in 2016, reportedly due to safety concerns.
