Description

Maison Bache-Gabrielsen, a renowned cognac house founded in 1905, produces whiskies in addition to cognacs. This Bache Gabrielsen 5 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is distilled from unpeated barley grown in France. It undergoes a double maturation process, first in ex-American oak Cognac casks from their own cellars, followed by a second maturation in casks that previously held their Very Old Pineau des Charentes. This limited edition release showcases the innovative spirit of the Bache Gabrielsen distillery.

Nose
A fragrant bouquet of sun-kissed pears and mirabelle plums, with notes of pastry dough, vanilla custard, roasted peanuts, croissants, fresh hay, and stewed fruit, accompanied by gentle vanilla and oak aromas with a hint of Cognac influence.
Palate
Light and floral, offering gourmet notes of yellow fruits, acacia honey, pear liqueur, maple syrup, and stewed peaches, with a soft, balanced profile, hints of caramel, ripe fruits, and a subtle spiciness.
Finish
Medium-long, very sweet, with elegance and length imparted by aged Pineau des Charentes casks, culminating in notes of pears and peaches poached in sweet white wine, and a subtle echo of oak and Cognac.
