Description

This is the second release of the 1975 vintage of Balblair Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, bottled in 2012. Unlike the first release which was matured in Spanish oak ex-sherry casks, this second release was aged in American oak ex-sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered and has natural color. Balblair is known for releasing whiskies exclusively in vintages, with each vintage handpicked by the Distillery Manager when it's at its peak.

Initially sweet and spicy with cinnamon, oak, nutmeg, ginger, and almond. Rich texture, silky smooth with citrus fruit, a hint of wood smoke, coconut, honey, and dried sultanas. Chocolate-covered nuts and candied fruit are also present.
Finish
Lingering nicely with mild spiciness and a touch of honey. Fruity, zesty with a touch of cocoa powder, aniseed, and oak. Sweet, intense, and long.
