Description

A small distillery in Perthshire, Edradour, produces the heavily peated Ballechin range. This 18 Year Old is the first small batch bottling, Batch No. 001, and is a cask strength edition. It was distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2023, having matured in first and second-fill Bourbon barrels. The spirit is heavily peated to at least 50ppm.

Sweet honey blends with smoky notes of peat and iodine.
Palate
Opening flavours of subtle vanilla and oak spice are complemented by the sweetness of barley sugar and exotic fruits. Then the robust peat smoke comes through with hints of pomegranate and spices caramel, with a hint of leather.
Finish
Long and lingering with a dry smoky finish.
