Nose
Combination of sweet smoked meat and ripe red fruit. Notes of cherries, raspberries, and cranberries intertwine with dense peat smoke and earthiness. Hints of old cellar, decaying leaves, and a touch of dry red wine with its typical tannins.
Palate
Robust and complex. Sweetness of red berries and currants meets harsh, ash-soaked smoke. Gradually developing notes of dark chocolate, licorice, and prominent spices like cinnamon and cloves. The influence of Burgundy wine adds a light, refreshing acidity and depth, reminiscent of fruit compote cooked over an open fire.
Finish
Very long and warming. Dominated by dry woody notes and lingering smoke, mixing with the fading taste of dried fruits and a subtle astringency of wine tannins. A trace of black pepper and smoked malt remains at the very end.
