Description

A highly-regarded malt distillery in Speyside and the second built by William Grant & Sons. The distillery is still owned by the company today its brand has been nurtured to become one of the most recognisable and sought-after single malts in the world. This Balvenie 8 Year Old Pure Malt is an early example of a Balvenie single malt Scotch whisky, bottled in the 1970s, despite the 'Pure Malt' designation which was a common labeling practice for single malts at the time. Nose
Classic scotchy scotch. Granny Smith apples blend with sweet and sour notes. Robust and hearty but easy to digest.
Palate
Thin mouthfeel but this is probably due to the low strength. Predominantly fresh apples moving through to spice in the back end. It definitely feels more robust as it goes on.
Finish
Again with apples and spice that leaves a warm and slightly lingering finish. [2]
