Description

The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old is a highly-regarded single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region of Scotland. It is initially matured for 14 years in traditional oak whisky casks (ex-Bourbon barrels) before undergoing a finishing period in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. This finishing process, devised by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE, involves American oak casks seasoned with his own blend of select West Indian rums, imparting a rich creaminess, tropical fruit notes, and a warm, lingering finish to the whisky. The Balvenie is known for growing its own barley and using traditional malting floors. This expression is bottled at 43% ABV and is neither colored nor chill-filtered.
