Description
Built by the Grant family in Dufftown, Balvenie is known for producing a sweeter, more honeyed, and very lightly peated new make spirit. This Balvenie 13 Year Old Moscatel Cask is a rare single malt expression, exclusively created for the Taiwanese market. It was initially matured for 13 years in Oloroso sherry casks, which impart traditional honeyed and nutty characteristics, before undergoing a delicate finishing period in Moscatel sherry casks, adding layers of sweetness, floral complexity, and fruity notes. This release was inspired by Balvenie's Malt Master, Kelsey McKechnie, who aimed to create a whisky that would complement the delicate flavors of Taiwanese cuisine.
