Description

Built by the Grant family in Dufftown, Balvenie is known for producing a sweeter, more honeyed, and very lightly peated new make spirit. This 15 Year Old Single Barrel Sherry Cask is part of Balvenie's classic 'Single Barrel' series, unveiled in 2014. It has been matured exclusively in a single European oak sherry butt for at least 15 years, creating a single malt characterized by dried fruit richness, nuttiness, and spice. Each bottle is drawn from an individual cask of a single distillation, with no more than 300 bottles yielded from this specific cask #11321. It is a non-chill filtered release, bottled at 47.8% ABV.

Big old fashioned Sherry matured character, bread-like fruitcake, malt loaf, nutty Oloroso, concentrated dried fruits, toasty oak, milk chocolate, burnt sugar, biscuit hints, prunes, hints of leather, slightly astringent oak, thick and creamy, caramel sweetness, chocolate notes, carrot cake spices.
Finish
Spicy fruitcake with cocoa, thick, mouth coating, lots of spice and berries, Oloroso sherry notes, long and elegant, oak and chocolate linger, nice viscosity.
