Description

This black whisky is from the Speyside Distillery, and takes its name from Ben Macdui which is the highest peak in the Cairngorms. The mountain was called the Black Mountain by Professor Norman Collie after his solo climb to the summit in 1891. It is a unique single malt Scotch whisky matured in heavily charred ruby port casks, which contribute to its unusually dark color and rich character. The water used for the distillate comes from the Cairngorm mountains, and the barley is locally produced.
