Description

In recent years Supermarkets have been buying up parcels of whisky from some well and lesser established Distilleries. And the results have been mixed. Some being highly lauded and winning International Whisky Awards. On the whole most have been very drinkable and great value for money. Bottled for the Lidl Supermarket chain from an undisclosed Islay distillery. Ben Bracken 43% ABV / 70cl.

Smoky, light, slightly oily, with hints of chocolate, coastal peat, toffee, sea salt, black pepper, lemon, and floral notes. Essential herbs, dried pear, ginger, vanilla, bitter chocolate, caramel, and black pepper also present.
Palate
Peaty with lemon, grass, hay, toffee apples, vanilla, caramel, pepper, liquorice, dark chocolate, oak, and currants. Oily texture, smooth, with complex aromas of ash, smoked sea salt, leather, and tobacco. Christmas spice and sickly sweet.
Finish
Quick, with notes of peat, grass, oil, burnt lemon peel, ash, allspice, and raisin. Long, clear, smoky, and gingerbread-spicy.
