Description

A historic malt distillery located in the Highland region of Scotland. Since 1989 it has been Japanese-owned as part of the Asahi Group. Although it only produces single malt today, the distillery dabbled in grain whisky production from 1955 to 1984, even producing rare examples of single blends.

Nose
A glass of petrol, putty, mineral oil, plaster, soot, and mustard powder, with a glimmer of white fruits and waxes. With water, it becomes fatter, broader, more waxy, oily, on aniseed, putty, limestone, and grassy rapeseed oil.
Palate
Young apple eau de vie, with waxes, mineral oils, suet, fir wood, and powerful fruit eau de vie impressions. With water, it doubles down on fresh fruit distillates, marc de gewurz, tarragon pickled in spirit vinegar, roast parsnips, turpentine, and mercurochrome.
Finish
Medium, sharper, more salty, with impressions of salt-baked vegetables and hyper grassy cooking oils.
