Description

A Speyside distillery that makes a range of different single malt styles. Its primary make is a non-peated spirit, however it also does runs of peated and triple-distilled spirit and is one of only a handful of distilleries in Scotland to still operate its own in-house floor maltings. The Benriach 25 Year Old is a premium expression, aged for a quarter-century, often matured in a combination of different cask types like sherry, bourbon, virgin oak, and sometimes Madeira casks. It is known for its complex flavor profile.

Aromas of ripe orchard fruits, honey, vanilla, marzipan, and a gentle spicy undertone of oak and cinnamon, with hints of subtle leather, dried fruits, smoked apricot, dark cherry chocolate, and hazelnut toffee.
Palate
Dark chocolate, toffee, roasted nuts, dried fruits, and spice, with malty sweetness, cocoa, graham, tropical and orchard fruits, golden raisins, marzipan, baked fruit, toasted oak spice, orange, and cinnamon spice.
Finish
Long and luxurious, with lingering flavors of dark chocolate, fruitcake, spice, oak, caramelised smoke, residual sherry sweetness, and a whisper of Madeira-influenced dried fruit.
