Description
Titled Alfheim, this eighth single malt release from Bivrost comprises whisky distilled in 2018-2020. Maturation took place in virgin American, Chinquapin and Colombian oak casks. Bivrost is the world's most northerly whisky producer, located far within the Arctic Circle near the town of Lyngseidet in Norway. Established in 2013, it was built within a disused NATO Cold War base. The word Bivrost comes from the old Scandinavian language and is one of the many names used for the Northern Lights, believed to be the bridge between Middle-earth and Asgard. Alfheim is the eighth Norwegian single malt to join Bivrost's Nine Worlds of Norse Mythology series. It is matured in a selection of European, American, Hungarian, Columbian, and chinquapin oak casks. Bivrost uses glacial meltwater during fermentation and distills from 100% Nordic barley. This is a limited edition release.
