Description
Blackened American Whiskey is a collaboration between the rock band Metallica and master distillers, initially Dave Pickerell and later Rob Dietrich. It is a blend of hand-selected straight bourbon and rye whiskeys sourced from various distilleries in North America, primarily Tennessee and Kentucky. The whiskey is uniquely finished in black brandy casks and undergoes a proprietary sonic-enhancement process called 'BLACK NOISE™'. This process involves blasting the barrels with low-frequency sound waves from Metallica's music, which causes the whiskey to penetrate deeper into the wood, extracting additional flavors. It is bottled by Sweet Amber Distilling Co. in Columbus, Ohio, or Louisville, KY.
