Nose
Elegant and precise, with delicate apricot, citrus (orange, mandarin), strong spices (clove, nutmeg), vanilla, and corn. Aeration reveals honeyed notes (lime blossom, heather) and grated ginger, with salted butter caramel, toffee, date, fig, and wood varnish.
Palate
Rich and unctuous, featuring blood orange, red fruits (strawberry, redcurrant), tobacco, cocoa bean, and new spices (pepper, cinnamon, star anise). Mid-palate transitions to fruity notes of greengage and mirabelle plum, evolving into milky (coconut), chocolatey, and roasted (coffee) registers.
Finish
Long and silky, with corn taking center stage. Sweet and heady flavors of cocoa, candied ginger, and pine resin emerge, followed by new oak, vanilla, and lime blossom. Notes of gentian, sage, and heady flowers (rose, lilac, peony) contribute to a delicate retro-nasal olfaction. The empty glass is vanilla, chocolate, spicy (cinnamon), tertiary (dried leaves, cashews), and floral (lily of the valley).
