Description

Blue Run's name comes from one of the founder's upbringings in Georgetown, Kentucky, and has some interesting founders, consisting of the first director-level employee at Facebook, a hospitality executive, a political advisor, a philanthropist, and a Nike Designer who designed the bottle to catch more eyes of a younger whisky drinker audience. This 14-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a limited, hand-bottled release, crafted in small batches and overseen by Liquid Advisor Jim Rutledge. It won Best in Class and Double Gold at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Nose
Baking spices followed by a wash of Anaheim pepper. Rich caramel and pepper punch forward. Super chocolatey and earthy funk, layered over well oiled leather. Crème brûlée vanilla, bready, buttery and dark, like a mincemeat pie.
Palate
Buttery, French toast cooked in a pan that recently fried breakfast sausages, hint of white pepper, slightly tart Rainier cherries. Rich cherry mouth coating, melting into a cinnamon hot candy. Rich, syrupy sweetness, spiced cherry, thick caramel and pepper. Plum and light apricot.
Finish
Pop of Caramel. Long, sweet and dry finish. Lingering heat. Medicinal cherry and mint, oak and leather. Peppery spice with a Kentucky hug.
