Description

A book devoted to illicit whisky distilling and smuggling in the Scottish Highlands, including accounts of illicit stills, excise enforcement, and Highland whisky practices and traditions. Ian MacDonald’s material is understood to derive partly from lectures given to the Gaelic Society of Inverness in the late nineteenth century. The pictured copy is a first-edition book published by William Mackay & Son in 1914.
