Nose
Rich and indulgent notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, and sweet dates intertwine with hints of warm spices, oak, and a delicate whiff of smoke. Also, tropical fruits, fresh orange, X-mas cake, roasted pecan nuts, old turpentine, juniper wood, sandalwood, old rose, incense, peat, pure smoke, waxy notes, dried orange, and winey sherry notes. Assertive aromas of old oak, palo cortado Sherry, wood resin, almond butter, sea salt, and malt.
Palate
Unfolds with grace, revealing layers of dried fruits, caramelized nuts, and a gentle influence of sherry. A great attack on grapefruit, banana flambéed, caramel sauce, sweet white wine (vin de paille), and plum jam. It also gets slightly meaty, oily, buttery, and semisweet, with touches of orange pekoe tea leaves, tobacco smoke, mince pie, honey, molasses, and Sherry.
Finish
Long and satisfying, lingering on the palate, featuring a delightfully oily texture and honey-like Oloroso Sherry.
