Description

This Bowmore De Luxe Litre is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the oldest operational distillery on Islay, established in 1779. Bottled in 1979, this expression comes from an era when Bowmore was acquired by Stanley P. Morrison in 1963, ushering in a period of iconic single malts. The distillery is now part of the Suntory Group since 1994. This particular 1-litre bottling is presented in the classic dumpy bottle style.

Nose
Sweet, tropical fruitiness with notes of pink grapefruit, passion fruits, tangerines, and overripe Cavaillon, alongside a rather bold and rustic peatiness. Hints of lime, menthol, dried mango, apricot, kiwi, and gasoline are also present, creating a very aromatic and wonderful combination.
Palate
Features fruit candy notes of oranges, peaches, and lime, which are slightly less tropical than the nose. Brown sugar, a little latte, and milk chocolate are also present, with a very gentle peat and light herbal notes.
Finish
Not too long, malty sweet, clean, with subtle spicy oak.
