Nose
Intense and spicy, with notes of blackcurrant, liquorice root, leather, medicinal, plum, sundried raisins, hazelnut, toasted almond, black pepper, and peat smoke. Hints of caramel, resin, orange peel, milk chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and berry jam. Also black forest gateau, almond powder, sherry vinegar, rancio, and a wisp of smoke.
Palate
Sweet and oily, with notes of floral parma violets, charred orange rind, blackcurrant, black cherry, apricot, polished wood, blackberries, blueberries, tobacco, old library, cranberries, raisins, chocolate chips, toffee, cola bottles, sea salt, peat, and ash.
Finish
Long and warming, with citrus, spice, glowing embers, liquorice, caramel, and a reassuring smoky touch. Slightly peppery, with smoked bacon.
