Description
The oldest operational distillery on the isle of Islay, built in 1779. Today it is part of the Suntory Group, having been acquired by the Japanese company in 1994. Under their ownership it has been nurtured into one of the most collectable names in Scotch whisky. This Bowmore commemorative bottling honours 25 years of Fèis Ìle, distilled in the mid-1980s and matured in a marriage of first-fill American-oak bourbon barrels and seasoned European-oak sherry butts. It was bottled in 2010 at 53.1% ABV as a limited edition of just 100 bottles.
