Nose
Brine, a lot of ash, peat and BBQ sauce. Peat reek and hints of sweet desert wine. Meaty, earthy and sooty with a certain medicinal quality to it. Sea-spray freshness with a hint of lemon zest, ripe apricots and a gentle smokiness.
Palate
Big ashy palate with a lot of wood smoke, ash, and peat, very sweet with a lot of sherry/wine influence, marinated meat, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, pepper, and espresso. Smooth and oily, sweet vanilla mingling with an earthy smokiness. A subtle thread of iodine with a touch of spice.
Finish
Sweet marinated meat, ash, peat, wood smoke. Long and satisfying, echoing the peaty notes more prominently as the sweeter elements gently faded. A whisper of saltiness lingered.
