Description

This Bowmore single malt was distilled on 14th June 1999 and aged in Limousin oak for eight years before being bottled in 2008 for the Fèis Ìle (Islay Whisky Festival). It was released as a limited edition of 800 numbered bottles, bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered, and with natural color, offering undiluted Islay intensity.

Nose
Lots of muscular, brazen smoke, along with dried berry fruits, hints of salinity, toffee apples, caramelised sugar, woodsmoke, iodine and hints of cocoa.
Palate
Thick and spicy with fiery peat smoke, hints of chamomile tea, a melange of fruits, a little cocoa, espresso beans, bitter oak and tangy cranberries.
Finish
Redcurrants and cranberry sauce, a little buttery toffee and hints of lapsang souchong.
