Description

The Bowmore Springtide is an Islay Single Malt Whisky, initially released for the travel retail market, with a second batch appearing in 2016. It is a cask-strength, non-chill-filtered expression predominantly matured in first-fill Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, with some second-fill casks also used. This limited edition release consists of 4000 bottles. It is known for its rich, complex flavor profile balancing sherry sweetness with Bowmore's characteristic peat smoke.

A complex mosaic of sweet grapes, dried berries, well-aged oak, honeyed dark sherry sweetness, vegetal salty peat, clove, cracked black pepper spice, sultana/tropical fruit, thick toffee, figs, raisins, light wood smoke, mild oak, black treacle, tropical fruits (mango, orange liqueur), toffee, figs, raisins, campfire on a beach, crushed peppercorns, camphor, ginger, blackcurrants, and briney notes.

Stalwart, delicate, and masterfully crafted, with long lingering notes of blue grapes, dried fruits, salted walnuts, spicy oak, smoke, peaty smoke, vegetal and black olive notes, bitter chocolate, anchovy, mocha, bonfire smoke, and sweet smoke.
