Description

A truly exceptional and collectible expression from Bowmore's Timeless Series, matured for 29 years to achieve remarkable depth and complexity. This limited edition single malt was carefully aged in a rare combination of European oak Sherry-seasoned casks and American oak ex-Bourbon casks, filled in 1991 and 1992. It was drawn at cask strength in 2023, capturing the full intensity of its long maturation. With 3,000 bottles released worldwide, this whisky is presented in a distinctive hourglass-shaped black box, often including a mini hourglass, symbolizing the appreciation of time. It offers a complex and flavourful profile with well-integrated Oloroso sherry and European oak influences, showcasing Bowmore's signature balance of peat and elegance.

Nose
Indulgent and really sweet, resembling Cognac, laden with dark fruits like dark cherries, wine grapes, sherry-soaked raisins, cocoa, bitter orange, cherry blossom, and liquorice. There's a hint of toasted oak and cacao nibs, adding depth, and a mild herbaceous quality with notes of rosemary.
Palate
The texture is lovely, thick and layered, offering rich flavours but fairly moderate sweetness. Prominent notes of wood polish and Kyoho grapes, along with generous baking spices from the European oak. Layers of warming peat, sea salt, spiced fruitcake, dark chocolate, and a mild espresso note with a very light salinity.
Finish
Relatively clean and short, characterised by spearmint and a slight nasal rush. Mouth warming, followed by peat drying and salt on the lips with a long-lasting finish, bursting with intention, and a sweet ashiness like honeyed charsiu pork, followed by a lingering trail of spice and warmth.
